Conscious Sedation Dentistry

If fear has kept you away from the dentist — or you're facing a long procedure like implant surgery — conscious sedation lets you drift through treatment in a deeply relaxed, drowsy state while continuing to breathe on your own. Many patients remember little or nothing afterward.

What it is

Relaxed and comfortable — not general anesthesia

Conscious sedation keeps you in a semi-conscious, calm state: you breathe independently and can respond to us, but anxiety and awareness of the procedure fade into the background. It's a well-established option for anxious patients and for longer treatments such as multiple implants or wisdom-tooth surgery.

Honest expectations: sedation suitability is a medical decision, not an add-on you simply order. We review your health history, current medications, and allergies first — in English — and recommend sedation only when it's appropriate for you. Some grogginess, and occasionally dizziness or nausea, in the first hours afterward is normal; plan a quiet rest of the day and don't drive yourself home.

How sedation treatment works at the clinic

Process

How a sedation appointment works

  1. 1

    Screening conversation

Tell us about your health conditions, medications, and allergies when you book. We confirm in advance whether conscious sedation is suitable for you.

  2. 2

    Everything explained first

Before any sedative is given, you'll understand the treatment plan and its cost, and have every question answered — in English, while you're fully alert.

  3. 3

    Treatment under sedation

You rest in a relaxed, drowsy state while we work, with your breathing and vital signs monitored the whole time.

  4. 4

    Recovery and aftercare

You recover at the clinic until you're steady, then leave with written aftercare instructions in English. Arrange for the rest of your day to be quiet — no driving, no important meetings.

Sleep sedation — so you can have the procedure done without feeling any pain or fear. I felt dizzy and nauseous for the first few hours, but after that I was completely fine and had no pain. … It is very thoughtful of you to provide last minute appointments for emergencies.
